NAONA MORU CAMP

Should I sip my apertif while viewing across the magnificent southern plains of the Serengeti or should I relax in my tented suite and listen to the calls of the wild? Naona Moru Camp offers both experiences and many, many more. Opening from 15th January 2015, this intimate camp of 11 tented suites allows us to offer your safari clients even more of a luxurious experience than ever. Combine crisp white sheets, gentle Serengeti breezes, running hot water, attractive neurtal decor with a pop of colour, comfortable sitting area, Victorian desk to record adventures, WiFi and an efficient service – this is how wild elegance is served.

Wash off the ‘safari powder’ in the large shower recess and perch yourself on the verandah to watch the sun set on the horizon. Located on an elevated viewing point beside the famous Moru Kopjes, this tented camp allows for drive in and game package clients to explore the resident and migratory wild game all year round. The landscape pans from the great southern plains of the Serengeti into the central hub of the most famous national park in Africa, close to Seronera Airstrip. The tented suites cater for honeymooners with private bush dinners, a small group of friends and even families with large tents to place bedding for two adults and up to three children.

We welcome all to Naona Moru Camp to experience the wonders of a journey into wild Africa.

Things to do

GAME DRIVES

Wildlife viewing and bird watching game drives within the central Serengeti are offered twice per day. Experienced guides encourage guests to see and experience the Serengeti through their eyes, sharing a world of small and large wonders that only they truly know and understand.

BALLOON SAFARI

Balloon safaris are a romantic and evocative way of experiencing the wilderness of East Africa, as you silently fly over the plains teeming with herds of wildlife in the early morning. Typically, a balloon safari begins around 6 am and lasts for around 1-2 hours. Balloon safaris (additional cost) in the Serengeti take off from designated sites in the nearby Seronera area. The safari is followed by a champagne breakfast in the bush, a fitting end to a memorable flight in the wild.

FAMILY SAFARIS

The adventure starts here! Naona Moru Camp welcomes children aged 5 and above. We guarantee a private safari vehicle to families of 4 more during the low season, but during high season families with children under 12 are obliged to use a private game-viewing vehicle at extra cost. Our bush guides have a wealth of insightful experience and they will fascinate you and your children with bush-wise facts, wildlife know-how, games, local customs and incredible stories of life in the wilderness.

WALKING SAFARIS

Explore the intriguing wilderness on foot with our in-house armed walking guide; follow the tracks, smell the herds on the breeze and hear the crunch of fauna underfoot.Ideally these are at dawn and dusk, before and after the heat and stillness which prevails around the middle of the day when the animals (and most people) take a rest. Our bush guides have a wealth of insightful experience and they will fascinate you with bush-wise facts, wildlife know-how, local customs and incredible stories of life in the wilderness.

(Walks are conducted from Seronera with an armed national park ranger, additional costs apply)
